We are working with a client in the Greater Cincinnati area. The client is the publisher of two brand catalogs and websites, and is one of the leading premiere multi-channel retailers in the home category.

Through both print and digital media, the client offers products of unsurpassed quality to their customers with engaging creative lifestyle imagery. The brand is known for fashionable indoor and outdoor home furnishings and accessories with unique, colorful style.

The Role:

Our client is looking for a copywriter with extensive experience editing and writing for effective online Web interface design. The ideal candidate knows the ins and outs of writing and formatting language for online display and SEO – whether it’s text in a Web interface, an e-mail campaign, or a call to action on a landing page.

Candidate Profile:

  • Strong at explaining language choices when challenged, delineate between constructive feedback and subjective opinion, and incorporate suggestions
  • Skilled at communicating complex ideas in simple terms
  • Able to cut through marketing-speak and business jargon
  • A resourceful individual who instinctively goes the extra mile to produce great work in a timely manner with little supervision.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Ecommerce team to develop creative strategies and concepts for copy improvements in interface design, and contextual help and incentive merchandising content.
  • Develop and maintain style guidelines to promote a consistent voice that relates to the site brand and audience.
  • Plan, write, copyedit, and maintain customer-facing language in our Web sites.
  • Work closely with business owners and visual designers to ensure messaging and designs work together and follow our writing style guide.


  • 4+ years’ experience planning, writing, and editing copy in a professional capacity for B2C Web projects.
  • Diverse portfolio of work used for consumer Web interfaces, promotional e-mail, and specialized landing pages.
  • Familiarity with the nuances of communicating online and how language, formatting, and layout affect a message and usability.
  • Experience with branding, direct marketing, advertising, and SEO strategies.
  • Experience crafting effective messaging strategies, themes, triggers, and value propositions.
  • Familiarity with interface design, interactive design, and labeling systems.
  • Superior communication, conceptual, organizational, writing, proofreading, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency with Windows and MS Office (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).

  • Bachelors or graduate degree in English, Marketing, Journalism, Visual Communications, Advertising, or a related field.
