We’re looking for an exceptionally talented Interactive Art Director with extensive experience and a well-rounded design background to join this highly creative, award-winning agency in Ottawa.  This organization has a roster of outstanding clientele who demand nothing but the best from their teams. This role will work closely with internal (and external) clients and will be responsible for developing creative concepts including design direction while overseeing projects from start to finish. You will be responsible for presenting to key stakeholders and providing leadership and guidance to project teams.

The ideal candidate should have developed solid problem solving abilities to a degree where each design project is not seen in isolation. But rather, they will also be able to look at the ‘bigger picture’ incorporating best design and technology practices to provide cohesive support of overall creative strategies.

Candidates must have confidence to be part of a pitch team as well as comfortable in a client facing role to take client visions and distill down to clear and concise directions, goals and requirements.  The ability and finesse to juggle multiple projects at once as well as possessing a positive “can do” mentality is required to succeed in this role.  You thrive in a team oriented environment but can equally take on a task and run with it.

Additional skills include an above average level of attention to detail, experience leading small to medium size interactive teams and a solid track record in overseeing projects from start to finish. This role will work closely with project managers to prioritize and manage budgets and deliverables, as well as being a mentor to others on production methodologies and best practices. Not necessarily a “geek”, but a knowledge and passion for emerging industry tools, trends and techniques would be required in this role.

Portfolios  must demonstrate a solid track record in developing online, rich immersive websites, console gaming, etc. (5+ years); possess prior experience in leading medium size digital projects; have “hands on” skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and After Effects and formal design training with solid typography, graphic, and interaction design skills.
