“Jancy” to become legendary
Janet Kestin and Nancy Vonk are the co-CCOs of Ogilvy & Mather Toronto, but to the ihaveanidea audience, you probably know them better as ‘Jancy’, the unique ad industry columnists of ‘Ask Jancy’, an ihaveanidea staple for over seven years.
Well now here’s a new thing to know Jancy as: legends. Yes, Janet and Nancy will be among the inductees in the 2011 Canadian Marketers Hall of Legends next April.
Ogilvy HK: Shangri-La hotels are amazing. Getting to one though…
Whoever coined the phrase “getting there is half the fun” was probably not going anywhere that exciting. I, for one, am not a big fan of “the journey”. I get about an hour into it before I’m wishing I’m already there. Throw in the fact that that I can’t sleep on planes or trains, and I’m one cranky traveller.
Fortunately my travels haven’t been nearly as harrowing as the poor chap in this epic, three-minute spot by Ogilvy & Mather Hong Kong for Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts.
Hey Ogilvy Paris, exactly which minerals are in Vittel mineral water?
In northwest France lay the Vosges Mountains, which has been the exclusive source of Vittel mineral water for over 150 years. It’s a pure refreshing water, and according to how tthis trio of TV spots by Ogilvy & Mather Paris plays out, it just might just be the only naturally occurring source of Stanozolol in the world.
Award Show Bedlam! 2009 Eurobest Grand Prix Winners
While North Americans were either getting their Black Friday shopping on or preparing to watch the Alouettes take on the Roughriders in the 97th Grey Cup, Europe was celebrating its shining ad stars in a swanky gala in Amsterdam at the 2nd Annual Eurobest Advertising Festival. Eurobest, brought to you by the same minds behind the Cannes Lions, is now the biggest award show exclusively for European agencies.
The Burger King gets a Brazilian
Oh those wacky folks at Crispin Porter + Bogusky! Where will they take their creepy Burger King next? All the way to Brazil, perhaps? Well that’s exactly what they di— what?… You mean Crispin didn’t make these?… But, but the King and the Whopper and the strangeness and the… oh, I see. Never mind.
My Big Fat Greek Chocolate Bar by Ogilvy Athens
We’ve featured knife-wielding British kids and Showtime serial killers using interactive annotation technology, but now it’s time to put it to less morbid uses, like bringing lovers together for some tasty Greek chocolate.
Alright stop, collaborate and listen: Ogilvy, Vanilla Ice for Castle Lite
I never liked Vanilla Ice. Never. I hated his rhymes, I hated his outfits, I hated that trimmed part in his eyebrows. I even wrote a rap about how much I hated him way back in high school, and if you get me drunk enough at some party and I might be able to recite it after all these years.
Ogilvy Argentina transforms a “Happy Kingdom” for Coke Zero
“Darkness and despair hung over the kingdom like a tattered shroud, blotting out hopes and dreams just as easily as it blotted out the sun… until the emperor brought himself to try a most curious elixir… Coke Zero.”

Leave it up to the folks at Ogilvy & Mather Sao Paulo to equate an underperforming car engine with baldness.
