Leo Burnett Sydney and Bundaberg are back… heaven help us all
When last we visited our friends at Leo Burnett Sydney and their Bundaberg Rum client, sugar millers were busy obliterating crocodiles (and then apologizing for it. Twice.)
But it’s a new day, a new rum, and a new direction as they announce Bundy 5, an all-new white rum.
Award Show Bedlam! D&AD, Marketing Awards winners announced
Hello ladies. Look at the award shows. Now back to me. Now back to the award shows. Now back to me. Notice something? Yes, Wieden + Kennedy Portland and Old Spice are still cleaning up at the big international shows. They’ve just picked up not one but two very rare Black Pencils at the 2011 D&AD Awards today, not to mention three Yellow Pencils, two Nominations, and two pieces they figured would be good enough to throw in their upcoming annual.
Leo Burnett Dubai hand-draws a billboard for Chevrolet
Back when I was young kid, I used to wonder exactly when they changed the billboards in my neighbourhood and around town. One night, I’d see the same billboard I’ve been seeing for weeks, and by morning, I’d see an all new billboard. No, it wasn’t a big mystery as to what was happening, just when. Even today, even actually being in the advertising business, it’s been very rare that I’ve seen a billboard being posted.
Leo Burnett Sydney’s awesome Bundaberg ad leads to awesomer apology
Last week in the Inbox we featured an ad by Leo Burnett Sydney for Bundaberg Rum that was quite possibly the most amazing ad ever — or at least that week. So awesome was the ad that I felt compelled to tell the ECD behind it how awesome it was. (Andy DiLallo’s response? “It means a lot to hear positive feed back from people outside the project.”)
Leo Burnett Sydney creates mindless fun for “the thinking man’s rum.”
Aussie spirit Bundaberg is “the thinking man’s rum”, or at least that’s what the tagline in this 60 second TV spot by Leo Burnett Sydney says. But I implore you, dear Inbox readers, leave thinking out of the equation when you give this one a watch. Trying to wrap your brain around this awesomeness will only cause your head to explode.
Award Show Bedlam! 2009 Eurobest Grand Prix Winners
While North Americans were either getting their Black Friday shopping on or preparing to watch the Alouettes take on the Roughriders in the 97th Grey Cup, Europe was celebrating its shining ad stars in a swanky gala in Amsterdam at the 2nd Annual Eurobest Advertising Festival. Eurobest, brought to you by the same minds behind the Cannes Lions, is now the biggest award show exclusively for European agencies.
Kimbo Slice wants to f@%# up your caterpillar
Poor Kimbo Slice. A year or so ago he was the most feared man on the planet, a back alley street fighter with a beard carved out of granite and a liquid nitrogen stare, prepared to take on the world of mixed martial arts. A 14 second loss on national TV later, and now he’s doing battle with a caterpillar in a strange but funny spot for Norton Internet Security 2010.
Acclaimed ECD Yasmin Ahmad passes away
Sad news from the Malaysian ad industry this weekend, as acclaimed Leo Burnett Kuala Lumpur ECD Yasmin Ahmad passed away over the weekend at the age of 51 after suffering a stroke last week.
Leo Burnett Sydney wants to kick-start creative careers
I’m sure all of ihaveanidea’s young Australian readers have already caught this one on Campaign Brief Australia, but I thought was worth a post here, if only to get our young non-Australian readers insanely jealous of this opportunity!
