BBDO Toronto gets you to touch Skittles’ rainbow
By now all of you know ihaveanidea’s policy on TBWAChiatDay New York’s ads for Skittles and Starburst; there’s no explaining the madness, so we don’t even try.
Let it be known that this rule also extends to Skittles ads made by BBDO Toronto, with these kinda, sorta but not really interactive online videos from their YouTube channel.
Helpful St. Paddy’s Day tips from AMV BBDO and Guinness
We are fast approaching the middle of March, and for anyone who is Irish (or just wishes they were for a day) knows what that means: St. Patrick’s Day festivities! And while it might seem fun to be pounding back beer that has been dyed green, true St. Paddy’s Day fans reach for a much darker brew, a perfectly poured Guinness.
Super Bowl XLV Part Two: The Good, the Bad and the Skechers
Not every spot in last night’s Super Bowl featured rap artists or wheels. The usual suspects were on the scene, with Coca-Cola dazzling, and Pepsi returning to the game only to let their consumers do the dazzling for them. Yes, there was another slew of consumer-generated content this year, with Pepsi and Doritos joining forces to have their fans get “creative”.
Super Bowl XLV Part One: All cars and rap stars
Well another Super Bowl has come and gone. Two legendary rivals from blue-collar towns duked it out, and in the end, the Green Bay Packers were victorious over the Pittsburgh Steelers. But hey, we are ad people, who cares about the game, right?
This year’s Super Bowl has been dubbed the Car Bowl; there were almost as many automotive related spots as there were Pittsburgh points on the board. We also saw rap stars in cars, animated rap stars, and halftime show rap stars who were giving barely animated performances.
Some Pretty Childish Ringtones Courtesy of AlmapBBDO and Casa do Zezinho
Keeping children from low-income families busy is a problem in most countries, but it seems to be an alarmingly pressing one in Brazil where the disparities between rich and poor can often be quite brutal.
To that effect, Sao Paulo’s AlmapBBDO has teamed up with Casa do Zezinho to come up with Ringotônicos; an effort to help provide those less fortunate kids with musical instruments.
BBDO NY, AT&T ensure you’ll never miss a joke or a taco ever again
Does AT&T have the fast network connection in the US? I dunno, I’m a Canadian. As I’ve said before, whenever I hear the letters AT&T they are usually combined with “iPhone” and a host of expletives on some blog post.
That said, the people of BBDO New York have done a nice job on this pair of spots. One shows the advantage of being on a faster network than your co-workers, and the other, the sad, sad disadvantages of being the slow network guy at work.
BBDO NY: Homemade HBO not like the real thing
‘Tis the season for giving presents from the heart, and what better way to show someone how much you mean to them than by crafting them something by hand? That’s all well and good when it comes to Christmas shortbread cookies, but it’s a little more difficult when what you wanna make is a TV show.
AlmapBBDO and VW Bring the Test Drive Experience to your Screens
Last July, VW partnered with Cannes 2010 Agency of the Year AlmapBBDO to launch the Amarok, its first medium-sized pick up in Brazil. If you’re familiar with the agency, you’ll know that they’re not generally up for doing anything half-assed, so they decided to add a twist to the test drive experience.
By bringing the experience [...]
BBDO NY covers AT&T with paper… or papers AT&T’s coverage
I don’t know much about AT&T. Up here in Canada, all we really hear about the company is how they have had a deathlock on the iPhone, and that the service for it hasn’t exactly had customers singing their praises.
Their flesh and blood customers, at least.
Their paper ones, well, that’s a different story. In this 30 second spot by BBDO New York, AT&T’s coverage reaches out to 97% of all Americans…. via the longest paper-doll chain in the world.
Proximity Chicago: the Foursquarian Candidate for Mayor of the city
The mayoral election for the city of Chicago is coming up in late February of next year, but the race has garnered global attention now that Rahm fucking Emanuel has decided to throw his goddamned hat into the motherfucking ring — for those who don’t know, Rahm is the former White House Chief of Staff, known for raining down profanities behind closed doors.
