JWT London is turning the air Pear
The UK is a veritable Candyland, with chocolate bars and sweets of all sorts that are rare or completely unknown on this side of the pond. One such treat is called the pear drop, a yellow and pink pear shaped candy with a distinctive (but not necessarily pear) flavour.
Well a new company called Drop Drinks has gone and put that great taste into a soft drink, and the folks of JWT London invite everyone “turn the air pear” in pretty much the grossest way possible.
Leo Burnett Sydney and Bundaberg are back… heaven help us all
When last we visited our friends at Leo Burnett Sydney and their Bundaberg Rum client, sugar millers were busy obliterating crocodiles (and then apologizing for it. Twice.)
But it’s a new day, a new rum, and a new direction as they announce Bundy 5, an all-new white rum.
Award Show Bedlam! D&AD, Marketing Awards winners announced
Hello ladies. Look at the award shows. Now back to me. Now back to the award shows. Now back to me. Notice something? Yes, Wieden + Kennedy Portland and Old Spice are still cleaning up at the big international shows. They’ve just picked up not one but two very rare Black Pencils at the 2011 D&AD Awards today, not to mention three Yellow Pencils, two Nominations, and two pieces they figured would be good enough to throw in their upcoming annual.
TBWA\Chiat\Day NY and Starburst: you know the drill…
If you are new to the ihaveanidea Inbox, you might not know our long-held sacred rule regarding TBWAChiatDay New York and their spots for Starburst and/or Skittles.
Simply put, it’s like Fight Club: you do not talk about Skittles or Starburst ads.
DDB UK urges you to simply give in to Gü
When we last left Gü, the British manufacturer of seemingly orgasm inducing desserts that I intend to try the moment I ever touch down at Heathrow again, they were whisking us off to an untsettling, Lynchian world of housewives and ganaches.
We are pleased to announce that Gü is back, with creative duties being passed onto the folks at DDB UK.
Y&R NY, VML get Xerox into your business brain
I’m not even sure if the folks at Xerox would even want to know what goes on inside the minds of the ihaveanidea crew during office hours — more for letter words than you can shake an HR manual at — but it looks like Y&R New York and VML have joined forces to create Business For Your Brain.
Award Show Bedlam! Tomorrow Awards, Bessies, ANDYs
Whew! We at ihaveanidea have been insanely busy behind the scenes, gearing up for Portfolio Night 9, the return of the Schmooze, the launch of Creative Director:Year Zero, our first ever Training Day and a whole host of other things, so it’s no wonder that a few award show notes have slipped in under the [...]
BBDO Toronto gets you to touch Skittles’ rainbow
By now all of you know ihaveanidea’s policy on TBWAChiatDay New York’s ads for Skittles and Starburst; there’s no explaining the madness, so we don’t even try.
Let it be known that this rule also extends to Skittles ads made by BBDO Toronto, with these kinda, sorta but not really interactive online videos from their YouTube channel.
DDB Stockholm: war isn’t as fun as it looks, but join anyway
When it comes to Hollywood’s depiction of war, you tend to think of the 1980s Rambo meets Commando shoot ‘em ups where musclebound dudes with dirt smeared across their face in badass streaks carry guns that spit never-ending bullets.
Helpful St. Paddy’s Day tips from AMV BBDO and Guinness
We are fast approaching the middle of March, and for anyone who is Irish (or just wishes they were for a day) knows what that means: St. Patrick’s Day festivities! And while it might seem fun to be pounding back beer that has been dyed green, true St. Paddy’s Day fans reach for a much darker brew, a perfectly poured Guinness.
