Revolution is for “The Birds” says Marcel Worldwide & France 24
Which of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic movies stays with you the longest? Is it Rear Window? Psycho? North by Northwest? For me, it has to be The Birds, where something as innocuous as a bunch of feathered creatures strikes terror in the cast, as well as the audience. Plus for me, it takes me back to one frightening childhood afternoon, when a pair of gulls really, really wanted my lunch on Toronto’s Centre Island.
Cundari goes balls through the wall for BMW
I’ve had a driver’s licence since my high school days, but I think I’ve used it more often as ID at clubs and liquor stores than to actually get behind the wheel.
But if I did drive, my imagination tells me it would totally be like this awesome BMW 1M spot by Toronto agency Cundari; wide open desert roads, total disregard for the lane and median lines, and concrete walls that require serious drifting skills just to keep you on your toes.
Taxi battles for beauty with Internet Explorer 9
As a Mac user, I’m more likely to be surfing the net using Safari or Firefox, but even I will admit that a more than sizeable chunk of the world runs with Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.
To promote the new Internet Explorer 9 and what they call a faster, richer and safer web experience fuelled by HTML5 the Toronto and Montreal offices of Taxi have created an online and offline gaming experience entitled The Battle of Beauty.
Camp + King, Old Navy want you dressing like some guys, not like others
For those of you who are used to having their Old Navy ads lovingly dipped in high fructose corn syrup and dusted with sunbeams and powdered sugar by the folks at Crispin, here is a new campaign that takes the brand in a less saccharine direction.
Created by Camp + King, the online videos spoof other types of men’s fashion advertising before encouraging the viewers to “dress like a guy”, not a lamb cradling fashion whore or a CrackBerrty slinging khaki cowboy.
Publicis Mojo puts the “super” in Hahn Super Dry
What goes into making a great beer? Pure spring water, the finest hops and barley, and a passion for the craft that can only come from an experienced brewmaster. But what goes into a super beer? Monster trucks, kung-fu flicks and sports trophies.
The crew Down Under at Publicis Mojo Sydney have launched their very first TV spot for Hahn Super Dry, where they show just what makes this beer so super…
Mother London shows Stella Artois a little respect
Ah, the chivalrous act of laying down one’s coat so that a damsel may cross a puddle. I must’ve seen this in a hundred cartoons and other shows as a kid, and even at that young age it used to bother me to no end. Why on earth would anybody do that!?
Donkeys and voles and bears, oh my! ING fables by BMB
Good old Aesop. If it wasn’t for that crazy guy roaming around ancient Greece, telling parables with talking animals in them, where would we be as a society when it came to making a simple allegory?
We certainly wouldn’t have this trio of TV spots for ING Direct by London’s Beattie McGuiness Bungay.
TBWA\Chiat\Day NY and Starburst: you know the drill…
If you are new to the ihaveanidea Inbox, you might not know our long-held sacred rule regarding TBWAChiatDay New York and their spots for Starburst and/or Skittles.
Simply put, it’s like Fight Club: you do not talk about Skittles or Starburst ads.
Turkeys make better burgers than babysitters, says D&G and Carl’s Jr.
The last time our LA friends at David&Goliath were showing off work for burger chain Carl’s Jr, they were unveiling a new turkey burger using the ravishing Miss Turkey in an all-out glitz and glamour spot.
With the introduction out of the way, they can now get down to a harsh reality: turkeys really aren’t good for anything except making delicious burgers.
Droga5 lets the sun shine in for Prudential
Working at ihaveanidea can be a lot of crazy fun, but it’s certainly not for people who need to be 9-to-5ers. In fact you’re more likely to see the sun rise in the morning because you worked the whole night through than you are because you are just waking up.In cases like those, it’s best to just draw the blinds and mumble something about coffee.
Thankfully the crew at Droga5 New York have given us a new appreciation for the start of a new day, here in their very first TV spot for financial services company Prudential.
