Proximity Chicago: the Foursquarian Candidate for Mayor of the city
The mayoral election for the city of Chicago is coming up in late February of next year, but the race has garnered global attention now that Rahm fucking Emanuel has decided to throw his goddamned hat into the motherfucking ring — for those who don’t know, Rahm is the former White House Chief of Staff, known for raining down profanities behind closed doors.
Proximity BBDO Chicago has waded into the action in a very 2.0 kinda way. Introducing The Foursquarian Candidate, a project that connects the idea of being a mayor of a venue on Foursquare with being the actual mayor of the Windy City.
The concept is pretty simple: anybody who is eligible to become Mayor of Chicago can check in at the City of Chicago Mayoral HQ at the Wrigley Building. Like other Foursquare venues, whoever checks in most frequently becomes ‘Mayor’ of the HQ. Whoever is ‘Mayor’ at the stroke of midnight on Halloween becomes the Foursquarian Candidate, and will have BBDO lend their talents to their real world campaign.
From what I understand about the cutthroat nature of Chicago politics, that candidate is going to need all the help he or she can get.
