In Russia, SELLING awards gets you job opportunities
Meet Danilov Eugeniy, a Russian based copywriter who has the deal of the century for you!
Danilov, who recently won first prize in the Eurobest Young Creatives competition, is job hunting with a bit of a twist. You see, young, passionate creatives seem to be a dime a dozen these days. Passionate creatives with lots of talent are rarer, but it’s still a buyers’ market. But young, passionate creatives with talent who want to sell you a genuine Cannes Lions Grand Prix trophy to display like you actually earned it? Now that’s what you call a very sharp needle in a very big haystack.
As explained on his blog, Danilov is offering the chance to purchase a rare Cannes PR Lions Grand Prix, in exchange for the chance to him to work at your agency. Bidding starts at $US2000 over on eBay… a small price to pay to get such a rare trophy, and an award-winning Russian thrown into the deal.
Of course you might ask things like “where’d he get the trophy?” After all, he’s just a guy in Russia, and the winners of that particular award are those guys in Brisbane, Australia who did the “Greatest Job In The World” campaign. Maybe they won so many Grand Prix awards that year that they didn’t notice they forgot this one on the beach. My experience is that it’s best not to ask questions with these kind of things. It’s easier to plead innocence that way.
