Volkswagen Golf: a tale of two ad agencies
The folks (or is that volks?) at Volkswagen must really want to push the last incarnation of their famous Golf hatchback on a global scale, because last night the Inbox received ads from two different parts of the world for the same sporty vehicle.
First up, DDB Barcelona, with a funny TV spot depicting a cheapskate who not only fails to get the Golf of his dreams, he also inadvertently destroys the fulfilled wishes of somebody else.
Next up, PALM + HAVAS from right here in Montreal, ihaveanidea’s stomping grounds. They’ve sent along a trio of ads featuring not so much the VW Golf itself, but rather the embittered lives of rival car designers.
