Mother London forms a bond… James Bond… with The Post Office
ihaveanidea’s Operations AKOS guy Rafik just pointed this story out to me from over at AdFreak, not because it’s a great ad, but because finally I can rip on my own obsession, instead of poking fun of Rafik’s man crush on Zidane, Nat’s Fab Four worship, or President Ignacio’s fondness for Glenfiddich (“It’s the most important meal of the day!”)
Yes, I’ll say it with pride: I’m a James Bond fanatic. I’ve seen every film read every Fleming book in the series at least a dozen times, and the last seven or so flicks I’ve seen on opening day in the theatre. I’ve spent more than any sensible man would on memorabilia that I would never sell, and the highlight to my last trip to London was standing outside of MI6. To make matters worse, I’m in that distinct minority who thinks Roger Moore is Bond, not Connery.
So I just had to post this spot by Mother London for the Post Office, the retail division of UK’s Royal Mail. It’s part of a campaign featuring Sir Roger and his renowned self-deprecating humour.
See? Nobody can raise a single eyebrow like Roger can. Let’s see Daniel “I’m in such good shape and I’m blonde but I only got one girl in my last movie” Craig pull som’n like this off.
