Alright stop, collaborate and listen: Ogilvy, Vanilla Ice for Castle Lite
I never liked Vanilla Ice. Never. I hated his rhymes, I hated his outfits, I hated that trimmed part in his eyebrows. I even wrote a rap about how much I hated him way back in high school, and if you get me drunk enough at some party, I might be able to recite it after all these years.
But blood boiling loathing aside, I did have to smile a tiny bit when Mr. Robert Van Winkle showed up in the latest ad for Castle Lite Lager, created by Ogilvy Cape Town. You see, Ice is back with a brand new invention, as far as Castle is concerned. The brewery is doing that thing with the labels that change colour when the beer is cold, and is installing sub-zero freezers in South African bars to store their product. The only thing that goes with such ice-coldness is Vanilla Ice himself.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I think I’m gonna go have a Roni somewhere.
