Zidane searches for Gerrard, comic book style, for 180, adidas
A short while ago, we got on Nat’s case here in the Inbox about his borderline obsession over The Beatles. This time it’s Rafik’s turn.
You see, ihaveanidea’s Director of Operations AKOS has had a lifelong man-crush on soccer legend Zinedine Zidane. Maybe it’s because they both play attacking midfield. Maybe it’s their shared Algerian heritage. Whatever it is, there must be some reason why a grown man keeps framed photos of his idol on his night stand. *shivers*
So when our friends at 180 Amsterdam released the latest instalment of their adidas Football work, we knew it would get Rafik squealing like a 12 year old girl at a Justin Timberlake concert. The two minute plus spot is narrated by Zidane as he engages in the “Ultimate Search” for a powerhouse, and finds it in Liverpool FC midfielder Steven Gerrard.
The animated spot is accompanied by a giveaway graphic novel illustrated by top comic artists Jae Lee, J G Jones and Ryan Benjamin. You can view the book by clicking on the image below.
We’re sure Rafik would love a copy of the comic book, but we’re not sure if it will be kept in mint condition in sealed Mylar and acid-free backboards, or if it will become, ahem, under the mattress material.
