RCKR/Y&R is thinking AND acting locally
Now here’s an interesting way to give back to the community. London’s renowned RCKR/Y&R has taken the next step by creating a tiny boutique called RKCR/Y&R Local. Local opened its doors this week in a storefront in Camden Town. Its purpose: to help out an eclectic bunch of independent small businesses in the immediate vicinity of the shop who have been suffering through this economic downturn.

Matt Steward, RCKR’s New Business Manager, has been blogging about the whole experience over here at Brand Republic, and there’s a little video about the first day over here. How will they help out a tattoo parlour? A pierogi stand? A holistic care specialist? Find out on the blog, as the whole experiment wraps up today. I am curious to see if such a venture is worth carrying on for longer than a week; it would be a fascinating way for agencies to allow juniors and interns to cut their teeth on real world solutions that don’t have million dollar price tags attached to them.
