The Escape Pod takes pennies (straight to OfficeMax, that is)
And now for something completely ridiculous.
Last year, Chicago based agency The Escape Pod created a campaign for OfficeMax where an improv actor roamed the streets of New York, looking to buy things with nothing but pennies. The concept was that while some people won’t accept pennies as payment, OfficeMax will during its daily sales where certain items cost only one cent each.
This year, just in time for back to school season, The Escape Pod kicked it up a few levels, having the actor and a young sidekick play eccentric Scottish and Texas billionaires. The marks this time around were artists and antique dealers, invited to the duo’s opulent mansion to sell their wares. The reactions of some of the sellers is priceless.
