Night of the Ad Eaters takes a bite out of icons

New York City’s Advertising Week is just over a month and a bit away, and the events are really starting to come together. Last week we mentioned the “Big Ad Gig” competition, and now we’re talking about “Night of the Ad Eaters,” an all-night celebration of ads from around the world that will close out Advertising Week.

To promote the event, they’ve put together a spoof film trailer that’s notable for it’s hostile (or rather Eli Roth’s Hostel) treatment of the Energizer Bunny, the Geico Gecko and Ronald McDonald.

Night of the Ad Eaters is a concept from France that has been touring the world for nearly 30 years, but this is the first time it’s making a stop in the Big Apple. Tickets for the NYC evening are a hundred bucks a pop, and I believe that’s separate from your Ad Week delegate pass, but if the photos and videos from the European legs of the Ad Eaters tours are any indication, it should be one crazy party.
