McCann Erickson gives MasterCard some “Priceless Picks”
Earlier this week we showed you a new Google feature called “Favorite Places” which lets users find restaurants, shops, galleries and landmarks as recommended by famous celebrities.
Now the folks over at McCann Erickson in New York have developed an iPhone app for MasterCard called “Priceless Picks.” It’s similar to Google’s “Favorite Places”, except this one is generated by everyday people, not by folks like Tony Hawk and Moby.
The ‘picks’ are divided into several categories, like dining and shopping, and uses the iPhone’s GPS to detect your location and highlight nearby picks on a map. If you find deals of your own while you’re out on the town, you can upload and add them to the map, and even email your finds to your friends.
No word yet on what happens if your own “Priceless Pick” only accepts American Express.
