Police shut down David&Goliath photo shoot

About a year ago, when I ventured to Los Angeles and did one of ihaveanidea’s famous agency profiles on David&Goliath, they told me that the major advantage to being located in El Segundo — as opposed to downtown LA or somewhere trendier — was their close proximity to the airport.

If you caught the story on a number of ad blogs yesterday, you’d know that it can also be a detriment. Apparently the entire agency was on the roof of their place, doing a photo shoot. The lighting and smoke used in the shoot was troublesome enough to warrant an immediate visit by the LAX airport police, who claimed that the effects were screwing with air traffic control. 

It seems the multiple flashes and smoke effects were interfering with LAX air traffic control. The agency co-operated and shut down immediately. But not before getting enough shots to make this promotional ad for the agency. D&G Chairman and CCO David Angelo then unsheathed his mighty broadsword and smote the officers where they stood, to the huzzahs of his men and women.

Actually, no, they just shut the shoot down.

I gave David a quick shout for a comment, to which he replied “hey, this is what happens when you get kicked out of high school and end up starting an agency.”
