Sorrell. Lévy, Hagerty & Pandey talk about the ad biz on BBC tomorrow
Looks like the BBC is going to have quite an interesting debate this weekend, featuring some of the top top TOP dogs in the advertising business.
According to Campaign UK, the BBC will be airing The Insider Debate – Getting the Message Out: Advertising in Crisis tomorrow evening, with a panel consisting of Sir Martin Sorrell, CEO of WPP; Maurice Lévy, CEO of Publicis Groupe; Sir John Hegarty, Chairman and Worldwide Creative Director of Bartle Bogle Hegarty; and Piyush Pandey, Executive Chairman of Ogilvy India.
Campaign has a sneak preview clip right here. These feature Sorrell and Lévy not being terribly optimistic about a speedy recovery for the ad industry after the global economic downturn. Hagerty is in fine form, calling 90% of ads out there “rubbish”, and that it’s the duty of advertisers to positively engage consumers as ads become more intrusive.
