In a world of Bernie Madoffs, AIGs, and other shifty, scandalous accounts of solid investments evaporating, you gotta be pretty convincing if you’re a bank and hope to gain the trust of your customers and the general public. Not only do you have to appear to be a stable institution, you must also seem trustworthy.
W+K London: the goofy products division
It’s always fascinating when ad agencies do something that has absolutely nothing to do with advertising. Wieden + Kennedy are experts at this (hell, they even like to hire from outside of the ad biz) but there’s a very cool piece from Campaign UK about W+K London’s latest endeavour: hawking kitschy novelty items to the general public.

Scholz & Friends, Crossroads Films join forces with NATO
2009 marks the 60th anniversary of the formation of NATO. To mark this historic occasion, Brussels ad agency Scholz & Friends European Office has collaborated with Crossroads Films director Nico Beyer to create three poignant 30 second TV spots.

Kia Motors has launched a pretty quirky website for the new Kia Soul. Okay, “quirky” is an understatement, as it features dancing robots, flying fish, catapulting hamsters and a lot of other bizarre things that somehow just fit with the Kia brand.

Profero London’s new ECD: Elspeth Lynn
Profero London has hired Elspeth Lynn, the co-founder of the Canadian agency Zig, to the newly created role of executive creative director.
Lynn’s hiring marks the end of a six-month search to fill the role, and she will now be responsible for helping the agency develop its creative offering across all media.
