New Hire at David&Goliath
David Angelo, chairman and chief creative officer of David&Goliath—the LA-based independent creative agency—announced today the appointment of Napper Tandy as associate creative director for the agency’s LA office.
Reporting directly to David Angelo and executive creative director Colin Jeffery, Tandy, 33, will work on all D&G clients.
“An ACD needs to not only be a forward thinking creative leader, but brave in work as well as life,” said Angelo. “Napper’s award-winning work, bold attitude and strong work ethic combined with his wry sense of humor make him the perfect fit for D&G’s culture.”
Most recently, Tandy worked at Doner in Newport Beach, CA, as creative director. Prior to that, he spent the majority of his career at Saatchi&Saatchi in LA, where he started as a copywriter and was eventually promoted to associate creative director. While there, creative pinnacles included acting as a writer on seven of the highly acclaimed Toyota Tacoma commercials, serving as ACD and writer on the launch of the FJ Cruiser, and most recently, the writing and producing of two forty-five minute branded documentaries which ran on Speed Channel.
“David&Goliath’s brave philosophy and culture really resonated with me,” said Tandy. “Fear is the greatest enemy of greatness and anyone and anything can benefit from embracing brave behavior and decision making.”
Tandy’s work has been recognized by a variety of advertising award shows, most notably with the Graphis Poster Annual, IAAA and ANDY. Tandy was also short-listed for a Cannes Lion and Titanium Lion. The New York Times featured an article on Tandy’s first branded documentary Two Roads to Baja, describing it as “a unique marketing effort and a solution to the growing ability of viewers to avoid traditional commercials.”
Tandy currently resides in Venice, CA with his wife. He enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, surfing, playing the guitar and screenwriting.
