Re: Article in the globe and mail on Zak's new sho Posted on 7 Jul 2008 at 8:07am

Is it just me or does every new start-up agency say the exact same stuff? About how the other guys are doing it wrong and clients want things they're not being given and how the new guys are uniquely positioned to give them just that. And that instead of having a boardroom they'll have a meeting room underwater where everyone will wear scuba suits and be surrounded by sharks because that's what the competitive landscape out there is like, sharks and scuba. And no one will wear a watch because in...

Re: Visas for CDN juniors Posted on 4 Jul 2008 at 5:08pm

Sadly, it's damn near impossible unless you marry an American, or have the credentials for a US agency to really want to sponsor you. There's a lot of money and paperwork involved, and even then it's not guaranteed.

The rule of thumb is that you won't get a VISA unless you're filling a job that no US citizen can. That can be justified by a shelf full of Pencils. But a junior book? Not so much.

New Kid On The Block Posted on 30 Jun 2008 at 3:01pm

Hey guys,

I'm new...well sorta...I've always surfed the site (I used to work agency-side in creative and broadcast production).

I'm here this time for fun (as always), but also to be an on-line rep of sorts for Rino Noto, a very talented photographer in Toronto (many of you probably know Rino already as he's been around for years and is a heck of a nice guy).

You can check out his work here if you're interested: http://www.rinonoto.com/

Anyway, I'm ...

I think that the Halo campaign is an example of getting the absolute most possible out of a solid, but not groundbreaking idea. Meanwhile, the Cadbury ad is an example of making something magical out of virtually no idea at all.

And the guys who made the Halo campaign can point at the success of the launch as proof of the effectivenes...
