Google's over...

...unless they buy this site:

searchme.com

It's a visual search engine that allows you to see the front page of each webpage before you click on it. Check out the image and video searches too.

I was using something called "hyperbole";) Google is not over (obviously) and no searchme is not perfect... yet.

Really all I'm saying is they are on to something. All the people I've shown have cheered.

And yeah if your expecting to read the entire site on the search engine then, no, this is not that cool. The copy takes a second to focus and becomes readable enough to figure out what exactly is on the site.

But even when the text is out of focus I can still get a feel if the site is worth looking at which is gold when I'm searching. How many times do you click on a site you think has the content you want but is horribly designed and a nightmare to navigate.

If you like the traditional search engine click the button on the bottom and half the screen will be the google-esque text based search.

Re:
Searchme.com is funded by the Venture Capitalists who funded Google. 35 million dollars in developments to be exact.

Re: Google is over...
hmmm, well, i guess if this the new search engine, "searchme.com" was funded/and/or founded by people invovled with Google, then it's likely more probable that Google my use such an interface for a new flashy relaunch of their search engine. It would make sense to do something like this by "test marketing" this type of search engine as searchme.com and if it all goes hunky dory...then scrap searchme and adapt the interface for Google.

Anyhoo, my first guess is that Apple may notice at some point in time that the interface for searchme.com is a direct rip-off of that which personifies their new touch screens and Leopard OSX.
I dunno, but i don't think that Apple takes lightly to rip-offs of their features, especially when it concerns how something is designed.

Over'n'out.
