Hey Jancy, you gave the wrong answer!

Why did you answer that wrong?
re: How do i show the work i’m not supposed to show?
Your answer is wrong and could land people in hot water. If you are freelancing or doing contract work you can always try to set permission of use so that when this situation comes up within the contract (and it always does) both you and your clients are aware of how and when you plan on using content you developed for them. I have in the past had people interviewing me sign non disclosure agreements to see work that is sensitive but recent and relevant. The easiest way of showing it is to be honest with your clients. Showing work your not supposed to show to one person will make them not trust you or your use of their work, should they hire you and wish to retain full rights for finished works.
From someone.

intro Hey Jancy, you gave the wrong answer! You raise one point we think is quite valid—our answer was incomplete because we didn’t suggest a solution. We agree–you can always ask permission of the client and/or agency to use the work in your portfolio. We’re confused about your statement our advice could land people in hot water, considering we flagged the legal issues and warned of consequences. Bottom line, for all readers: proceed with caution including any work in your book that you’re not sure the agency or client would consider ok to share.
