Ads for TV shows and movies… too easy for my book?

I’m a junior trying to break into the ad world, and I was wondering if it’s okay to do ads for a TV show or a movie in my book. I have some amazing ideas for some TV shows, stuff that would be infinitely better than the “Watch House Mondays 8/7 Central on Fox”. I’ve never understood why so many of those are devoid of creativity.
My worry is that I’d be picking a product that’s too easy, and so it could work against me. What’s your ruling?

intro Ads for TV shows and movies... too easy for my book? The bar is so low for these promotions because they’re most typically done ‘in house’ and in great quantities. You can show anything in your book that shows your creativity. Have fun.
