Should I go for MAS Masters?

I’m looking to attend Miami Ad School but am having trouble deciding on which program would be most beneficial. I can’t decide between doing the regular 2 year program or the creative track program that gives you a Masters of Science in Mass Communications. The pros and cons are as follows:
Regular Program Pros: – Option of doing up to 4 quarters away and the experiences that come with working at different agencies throughout the country and the world. – Full Portfolio program and focus (including important computer classes, like photoshop, indesign, etc.)
Regular Program Cons: – No masters – Half a year longer
If I do the Masters, I can only do 1 quarter away internship at the end and lose out on the important computer skills I mentioned above), but I do gain a masters.
Ideally, I’d like to be a copywriter, but I feel like the masters may be a good thing to have in the event I don’t make it as a copywriter. I feel like with the masters I can always go client side and use the masters to my advantage. Does a masters of science in mass communication do anything for you? Does any masters for that matter get you anywhere in this industry? Or am I better off just concentrating on making a kick-ass portfolio and bet on succeeding as a copywriter?

intro Should I go for MAS Masters?What a nice problem to have. Chances are either program would be killer and you’d walk away madly employable. So the bigger question is – what do you want? You don’t sound 100% sure that copywriting is your destiny, which may mean that the Masters is the way to go. While most creative directors aren’t looking for degrees, heads of planning, account management, and project management usually are.

If you’re convinced creative is for you, go for the regular program and don’t worry about the degree. Take the fabulous portfolio experience and the chance to work around the world. No matter where you land, it’ll be the education of a lifetime.
