Learning on the dock of the Bay

As an aspiring AD who doesn’t really want to leave the Bay Area, what San Francisco schools do you think are in the upper echelon in terms of portfolio development and job employment rate?

intro Learning on the dock of the BayWe’re impressed by the Academy of Art University. It’s one of the oldest advertising schools in the country (founded in the 20′s) and we visited there in 2006. We found the student work to be very strong (the first thing you look for at an ad program—it really does say it all). http://www.academyart.edu/advertising-school/index.html Neither the school’s name nor their site are inspiring but substance trumps style. It’s one of the better schools in the U.S. and we recommend it.
