Greek CD wants to become North American CW

I started working as a copywriter in Greece in 1999. I’m now 28 and have worked for Ogilvy, Mccann and Saatchi in Athens and I’m currently an associate creative director in Leo Burnett Athens. What are my chances of going international? Would I stand any chances as a copywriter in Canada or the States? Should I take the risk?

intro Greek CD wants to become North American CWThere’s no risk in seeing how your portfolio is received in North America. If you get great feedback on your work and you are fluent in English (we cleaned up your letter a little so, not so sure about that), why not go for it? There’s always a learning curve in a new country and you also have to be pretty outstanding to inspire an employer to go through the hurdles of immigration rather than hire locally. But people with a really strong goal often find planets aligning for them. It can happen. Good luck.
