How should I feel after making an ad I’m not proud of?

How should I feel after producing an ad that I am not proud of?

intro How should I feel after making an ad Im not proud of?We know that wasn’t a trick question or anything, so here’s a not- trick answer: like shit. And then get over it real fast and move on. The next ad can be your best ad, and no matter the obstacles, you have to go at it with the relentless optimism of someone that could be called nuts for keeping the faith.

The simple fact is the vast majority of ads you produce in a career will not be CA material. Even the superstars make way more crap than gems. Aside from all the usual routes to mediocrity you’ll frequently be up against like bad research and bad clients, you’re going to be your own obstacle often enough. You will fall short in your thinking or selling or execution of your brilliant idea. It’s called being human.

One of the more eye-opening things we’ve learned when we’ve judged international shows is that even the very best agencies in the world enter incredibly average stuff. Their breakthrough work that does win makes them appear to be flawless, perhaps, for the moment. It just ain’t so.

So, some reasons to feel better, feel depressed and carry on fighting the good fight.
