Most of my book is spec work

I’m an AD and soon i’ll be hitting my second year in the biz. how would you react if i were to send you my book with 90% of it being spec work. does it matter at that point if it is killer spec work or are you strictly going to be looking for produced work and evaluate me according to it?
Thanks!!

intro Most of my book is spec workWe have no problem with spec work in books—even in senior books. Great ideas get killed for countless reasons, and why hold back on showing what you can do? As you get more experience, the quantitiy of spec should certainly go down. One more year and it should be no more than half of the book. For now, you’re going to make a far better impression with outstanding spec work than ok produced work. (And ‘only ok’ never belongs in your book, at any point in your career).
