How do junior ADs get their foot in the door?

How do junior art directors get their foot into the door?

intro How do junior ADs get their foot in the door? The same way junior writers do—get a strong portfolio in front of a creative director and where no opening exists, offer to do anything “to get your foot in the door”. Offer to be an intern. Maybe there’s a job in the studio. Rebuffed? If the CD does like you and your work, send them new work every several weeks and give a call right after you do. Being in the right place at the right time is the trick and this increases your odds. It keeps you top of mind, too. Just mind that careful balance between enthused and stalker.
