NEW YORK – (May 9, 2012) – IHAVEANIDEA, the community of the international advertising industry, is proud to announce that its Founder Ignacio Oreamuno has been named Executive Director of the Art Directors Club (ADC). Oreamuno is the first foreigner and the youngest Executive Director ever to lead the ADC.

Oreamuno has been charged with globalizing and redefining the purpose of the ADC, and ushering it into a new era relevant to the ever-changing advertising, visual communications and creative industries. His companies, IHAVEANIDEA, Portfolio Night and the Tomorrow Awards, will be integrated into the fabric of the ADC.

“The industry should have high expectations for what we will change and accomplish in the coming months. The synergy of current ADC programs like the ADC Awards, ADC Young Guns, and the ADC Hall of Fame combined with Portfolio Night, IHAVEANIDEA and the Tomorrow Awards will result in a more active Club and more valuable membership for all current and future ADC members,” Oreamuno said. “My door is always open to ADC members,” he added.

Oreamuno brings more than ten years of experience in the advertising industry. A former Junior Art Director at Ogilvy Toronto, Oreamuno left Ogilvy to focus on building his advertising intellectual archive, IHAVEANIDEA (www.ihaveanidea.org) – now one of the most important advertising publications in the industry. During the decade-long run of IHAVEANIDEA, Oreamuno founded Portfolio Night (www.portfolionight.com), the world’s largest simultaneous advertising portfolio review and recruitment event, and a door through which many of the industry’s top talent entered the business. After many years of working for major award shows including the Clio Awards, D&AD and Andy Awards, Oreamuno launched the Tomorrow Awards (www.tomorrowawards.com), the first-ever international award show to abolish all categories, focus on truly forward-thinking work, and use an inclusive public judging system to help the industry embrace and understand change in advertising and communications. Named one of Marketing Magazine’s “Ones to Watch Under 30,” Oreamuno is known for traveling the world to network with international agencies and top industry leaders, and will aim to bring those connections to the ADC.

The Art Directors Club is one of the oldest of its kind in North America. Founded in 1920 by Louis Pedlar to hold advertising art to the same high standards as fine art, the ADC is a gathering place for leaders in visual communication and funds programs to Connect, Provoke and Elevate creative professionals around the world.

“We look at this as an alliance of sorts – while Ignacio is our youngest director ever, he’s been incredibly busy in the last decade,” said Art Directors Club President Benjamin Palmer, also Co-Founder and CEO of the Barbarian Group. “The properties he brings to the table will be crucial to the club in promoting our mission to a global audience. We’re lucky to have him for his endless enthusiasm and worldwide network of the most amazing people working in the industry today, and his extraordinary ability to find young talent and nurture it.”

Oreamuno’s appointment is effective immediately. He will be based out of New York City and the ADC’s global headquarters office. For further information, please contact Director of IHAVEANIDEA Brianna Graves.

Founded in 1920, the Art Directors Club (www.adcglobal.org) is the premier organization for leaders in visual communication, boasting one of the most concentrated groups of creative talent in the world. A not-for-profit membership organization, the ADC’s mission is to Connect creative professionals around the globe, while simultaneously Provoking and Elevating world-changing ideas. The ADC provides a forum for creatives of all levels in Advertising, Design, Interactive Media and Communications to explore the direction of these rapidly converging industries.

IHAVEANIDEA (www.ihaveanidea.org) is the community of the international advertising industry, one of the oldest and longest running websites dedicated to advertising. Founded in 2001 by Ignacio Oreamuno, IHAVEANIDEA was conceived as an online intellectual archive for passionate advertising professionals to share their knowledge and experience, challenge the norms, and collectively push each other with the belief that such an exchange would benefit all within the advertising industry.

Portfolio Night (www.portfolionight.com) is an annual event where aspiring young advertising copywriters, art directors and designers meet with renowned advertising creative directors in a fast-paced evening of advice, networking and recruitment. In the ten years since its inception, Portfolio Night has grown to a global event, reaching creative hubs in nearly every continent in an evening where the best of the present meets the best of the years to come. Now in its milestone tenth year, Portfolio Night brings together thousands of young creatives, hundreds of creative directors and dozens of host agencies in cities around the world, along with key Global Partners, all in a “one night only” event across the planet.

The Tomorrow Awards (www.tomorrowawards.com) is an international advertising award show dedicated to discovering, showcasing and awarding advertising creativity that pushes new technological boundaries. Unique to the industry, The Tomorrow Awards is the first-ever international award show to abolish all categories as it seeks to educate the industry about new technologies and creative possibilities through an inclusive public judging system.

NEW YORK – (March 21, 2012) – Casale Media Inc., a leading premium online media technology company, today announced “The Engagement Directive: A Tomorrow Throwdown,” a worldwide competition in which creative minds will compete to craft the best interactive video-enabled rich media ad campaigns using Casale Media’s video overlay solution, VOS. Casale Media partnered with the Tomorrow Awards/IHAVEANIDEA organization to develop the contest and all participants will have a chance to compete for $15,000 in prizes from the two companies.

Contest participants will choose from seven brands and one free-for-all brief to create ads for, including: Kellogg’s Vector, Rocawear, McDonald’s Europe, FOX Canada’s Family Guy and Glee, EMI/Capitol records band Graffiti6, and Weekly World News. With briefs and assets in hand, competitors will be asked to design the most engaging, boundary-breaking video-enabled rich media overlay ad that best executes the brand’s overall vision. The contest is open to all creative minds around the world and consists of three rounds beginning with the first round entry deadline on April 20th, 2012, and first round finalists to be announced on May 4th, 2012.

A panel of judges that includes representatives from Casale Media, the brands, IHAVEANIDEA/The Tomorrow Awards and creative minds will vote on the top eight ads that will run live on Casale Media’s ad network, MediaNet, from May 28th, 2012 – June 25th, 2012. Online voting will be open to the public and will count toward the final panel decision. The eight finalists will have their ads assembled by Casale Media, executed and run in market according to the brand’s brief, in addition to receiving a cash prize. The grand prize winner will be announced on July 2nd, 2012.

“This competition gives the best creative minds around the world an opportunity to showcase their innovative skills and talents by making these top brands’ campaigns come to life in new ways,” said Julia Casale-Amorim, CMO, Casale Media. “Our goal with the Casale Media VOS platform was to develop an easy-to-use technology that could truly showcase the power that video advertising has to evoke an emotional response from viewers. With this competition, we look forward to seeing truly innovative and creative campaigns that push the boundaries of online video advertising.”

VOS is Casale Media’s video overlay solution that powers IAB standard ad units with rich interactive functionality and video-ready capabilities. It enables easily scalable, targeted and fully customized video and rich media ads to be created and run in-market for the price of standard display. VOS removes the guesswork and complexity from interactive video and rich media by consolidating all technical assembly, hosting, delivery, and media required into a single, cost-efficient platform.

Organizations join forces to help advertising industry overcome difficult talent-placement challenges

Toronto, May 5, 2011—In an exciting move to optimize the pairing of top creative talent with major international brands and agencies, Toronto-based creative staffing and workforce management firm Creative Niche (www.creativeniche.ca) and ihaveanidea (www.ihaveanidea.org)—the world’s longest-running and most extensive online community dedicated to advertising professionals—are announcing a dynamic new global talent recruitment partnership.

As part of the agreement, ihaveanidea will open its network of tens of thousands of creative professionals and promote Creative Niche to its global network of agency contacts around the world. Creative Niche will then use this wealth of contacts to help fill creative positions globally.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for our company to grow its global presence, while helping advertising firms of all sizes satisfy their needs for top creative talent,” says Creative Niche CEO Mandy Gilbert. “This partnership has transformed Creative Niche into a worldwide force on the creative staffing and recruitment front and opens up a vast array of possibilities for us to expand our reach as a company.”

As ihaveanidea.org founder Ignacio Oreamuno explains, the partnership was born of a desire to solve a growing problem faced by the advertising industry—the inability to recruit top creative talent with diverse, often technology-focused, skill sets.

“There’s a talent crisis going on because the people the advertising agencies need are very difficult to find,” Oreamuno says. “They need people that understand social media, but also understand traditional advertising. Through this partnership, we’re going to comb all of our networks to solve that problem and create what will be the powerhouse of creative recruitment.”

Understanding that the high-speed nature of Internet-based communications continues to interconnect companies from around the world ever faster, Gilbert and Oreamuno also understood the need to provide firms with access to talent from outside of traditional markets. “Agencies are telling us they want professionals from different regions to maximize the scope of the creative ideas they bring to the table,” Gilbert says. “This partnership allows us to tap into top talent pools stretching across the world’s most dynamic creative talent communities.”

Creative Niche will also be an active participant in ihaveanidea’s flagship Portfolio Night events and semi-annual Tomorrow Awards, which honour the best and brightest new minds the advertising industry has to offer.
