Brett McKenzie, Giant Hydra Creative Manager and SBN2

Pre-IHAVEANIDEA Occupation: Copywriter

Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Brett joined the IHAVEANIDEA team in 2002, way back when it was still a part-time passion for its members. He has served as the organization’s “Chief Writer SBN2,” crafting some of the site’s most intriguing articles, interviews and Agency Profiles. As IHAVEANIDEA has grown, so have Brett’s responsibilities; today, Brett is the Creative Manager and lead on Giant Hydra, IHAVEANIDEA’s collaborative crowdsourcing project. But don’t be fooled, he’ll still gets down on the dance floor like the early days.

A copywriter by trade, Brett has worked at such Toronto agencies as GJP + Partners and Doug, and has also lent his talents to IHAVEANIDEA projects, most notably the campaign for Portfolio Night 5, when he wrote “Make The Logo Bigger”, a hard rock anthem still making its rounds through the ad and design industries.

In the little time he has between IHAVEANIDEA and its other properties, Brett is a golden age hip-hop junkie/former emcee, and a major fan of the world of James Bond. For the record, KRS-One is the greatest rap artist of all time, Public Enemy is the greatest rap group and Roger Moore is the greatest 007, so there.
