(TORONTO/MONTREAL, May 20th 2009) ihaveanidea, Advertising’s Intellectual Archive, proudly announces Ogilvy & Mather as Global Agency Partner of Portfolio Night 7 and host of Portfolio Night 7 in New York City on June 16th 2009.  

ihaveanidea’s Portfolio Night is the largest simultaneous advertising portfolio review ever held in the world, featuring a uniquely designed portfolio review process in a “speed-dating” setting. The event helps students and aspiring young creatives around the world break into the ad industry and involves the top creative directors in each participating city.

”We want to reassert our leadership that Ogilvy is the place for the best and brightest young minds of our day to thrive in,” said Tham Khai Meng, Worldwide Creative Director for Ogilvy & Mather. “Supporting Portfolio Night is a clear demonstration that we are putting creativity at the center of everything that we do.”

 Ogilvy & Mather, one of the world’s most awarded creative agencies, is partnering with ihaveanidea to bring Portfolio Night 7 to many of the agency’s offices around the world. Participating Ogilvy & Mather offices hosting a Portfolio Night event include New York, Beijing, Sao Paulo, Melbourne, Tunis, Beirut, Dubai, and co-hosts with six other agencies in Singapore. Additionally, creative directors from Ogilvy’s other operations (not hosting events) will be taking part in Portfolio Night events held in their respective cities.

In fact, I had just started at Ogilvy Toronto as an art director when we created Portfolio Night. The other global partner of Portfolio Night 7 is Corbis. In addition to sponsoring the event worldwide, Corbis will provide global digital imagery for the event web-casts as well as provide onsite support to help students network with the world’s leading advertising professionals. 

Students enrolled in advertising programs, recent graduates, and up-and-coming creatives will have the opportunity to spend valuable face-to-face time with their city’s most prestigious creative directors. Young creatives are encouraged to attend this event in one of the participating cities and  have the opportunity to speak with three or more world-class creative directors.

Cost to participate is $35 in North America and is priced locally in other participating cities around the world. All aspiring creatives or juniors with an advertising portfolio must register online at  www.portfolionight.com

Started in 2002, Portfolio Night (www.portfolionight.com) is ihaveanidea’s annual event, where advertising’s top creative talents come together to review the portfolios of students, juniors and creative hopefuls in an exciting and engaging environment.
